Lake Freeman is a reservoir outside of Monticello, Indiana formed in 1925 by the completion of the Oakdale Dam. Lake Freeman, together with its sister lake, Lake Shafer is part of the Twin Lakes region, a popular summer recreational area centered on the town of Monticello, Indiana. Of course the river is the big attraction at Tippecanoe, especially for canoers and kayakers; you will need to bring your own equipment or make arrangements with local liveries. The trails are another popular attraction. There are 23 miles of trails, 9 miles of which are for hiking only, and 14 miles of which are a combination of hiking/horse trails. All are rated as easy to moderate.
The entertainment is almost endless at Indiana Beach Amusement Resort, where youre surrounded by an amusement park, a waterpark, and the fish-filled waters of Lake Shafer. Ride the white-knuckle roller coasters at the amusement park, make a splash at Indiana Beach Waterpark, or engage in aquatic adventures at Lake Shafer, which include fishing, swimming, or just lounging on the beach.

Jasper-Pulaski Fish & Wildlife Area is dedicated to providing quality outdoor recreational opportunities while maintaining 8,179 acres of wetland, upland and woodland game habitat. The property’s suitable habitat provides an ideal stopover for migratory birds. More than 10,000 sandhill cranes stop during fall migration.
Kersting’s Harley-Davidson in Winimac, IN is home to a vast collection of rare and fascinating motorcycles. The World of Motorcycles Museum now contains more than 219 bikes, 24 cars, 20 bicycles, two tractors, and wall-to-wall memorabilia.
Black oak savanna dune ridges interspersed with pin oak flatwoods comprise the natural core of Fisher Oak Savanna. In addition to the savanna dune ridges and pin oak flatwoods, NICHES has restored a high quality prairie on the south end of the property. Pin oak flatwoods, rare in the modern landscape, result in portions of Fisher Oak Savanna being dedicated as an Indiana State Nature Preserve.
